Take i 30 west to hwy 377. Comfortable cabins moderate to easy hikes quiet and lovely in winter i stayed here with family this winter in cabin 7. Situated on a lake this cabin is 11 1 mi 17 8 km from lake brownwood state park and within 20 mi 32 km of howard payne university and brownwood regional medical center.

The majority of their cabins accommodate 2 or 4 people but they do have cabins for larger groups of 8 26 people. It is very quiet and was a great place to hike in the winter. The park is about 20 minutes from the town of brownwood and about 10 minutes to a reasonably stocked convenient store dollar store etc.

Take hwy 377 south to brownwood. Turn right on park road 15 for 7 miles to park headquarters. Brownwood country club and heritage hall and coleman museum are also within 32 mi 52 km.

Take hwy 279 north for 17 miles. The cabins are really cool. The lodge has a view of the lake two large dormitory bedrooms with bunk size beds 12 in one 14 in the other large dining and living room with fireplace for use in winter only and large outdoor grill.
