Cabin Fever Review
Seeing how his family handles being stranded in a snowstorm is the highlight of the book.
Cabin fever review. One of the most appropriate ways to review a film like cabin fever would be to copy and paste roger s words on eli roth s 2002 original. The original cabin fever was a pretty bad movie but i wouldn t even recommend this film to eli roth fans as it is a pretty pointless remake. Arriving just shy of 15 years after eli roth s 2002.
Reviewed in the united states on july 5 2019 despite the rating this really isn t a bad movie and i do think it s worth a look. Fans of the original probably should stay away. Characters infected with the flesh eating virus vomit copious amounts of blood and develop grisly lesions all over their bodies.
Based on skin curdling tales of the real life flesh eating virus cabin fever blends the elements of classic horror films of the 70 s and 80 s with modern day medical terror. Cabin fever critics consensus. It s amusing has some lighthearted humour that contrasts well with the over the top gore exceptional make up effects and a story that while simple isn t half bad.
Yes this is one of those questionably greedy xeroxed remakes where its business is in restating not just restarting or rebooting what the original has done. If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery the remake of cabin fever reps a particularly po faced exercise in pointless puffery. Cabin fever much like the original is not a very good movie but kudos have to be given to the makeup department for creating some grotesque looking abominations of people as their skin.
Cabin fever is such a foul film that putting its images into words is at best painful and repulsive and at worst impossible. So why the merely average rating. More gory than scary cabin fever is satisfied with paying homage to genre conventions rather than reinventing them.
